CHF Monthly E-bulletin
CHF’s e-bulletin keeps you up to date with CHF activities and provides the latest news in the world of international development.
On January 12, a massive earthquake struck Haiti, destroying an already fragile infrastructure and further devastating a vulnerable population struggling to survive.
Haitians have now suffered through days of hunger, agony and panic. And it will be many, many more days until homes, communities and food systems are rebuilt. It is estimated that up to 3 million persons affected by the earthquake now lack water, food and shelter.
CHF is mobilizing to help the rebuilding effort in Haiti. With schools, houses and hospitals severely damaged in the earthquake, Haiti’s already fragile infrastructure is stretched beyond capacity.
Please donate today to help Haitians in need. Whatever you give will go directly to CHF’s Haiti Emergency Fund and will provide critical funds to people in Haiti.
Since 2006, CHF has been working with Fonkoze, a Haitian micro-finance organization, to address the needs of some of Haiti’s poorest households. Your gift ensures that CHF will be there for Haitians in need.
And the need is unprecedented. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, with 80% of the people living on less than $2 per day. Even before the earthquake, access to clean drinking water, adequate housing and health services was non-existent for most Haitians.
Your gift today – $15, $35, $50, $100 or anything you choose to give – will make a vital impact on people who need your help more than ever before.
After a devastating hurricane in 2008, CHF and Fonkoze provided support to 25,000 Haitians who lost their homes and businesses. Many of these same people have lost everything once more. And once more, we will work to ensure that their livelihoods can be re-established.
Once the immediate relief and recovery efforts have been completed, and the cameras are gone, Canada’s CHF and its partner in Haiti, Fonkoze, will be there.
But we can’t do it without you. Please make gift to CHF’s Haiti Emergency Fund today.
