Mazhar Ali Khan recently joined CHF as the Livelihoods Specialist on the Pakistan Program. Based in the Abbottabad District of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK) Province, Mr. Khan is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and managing two large CHF projects aimed at supporting ultra-poor households build long-term, sustainable livelihoods for themselves and engage in community-led reconstruction work to contribute to equitable economic and social development in their communities.

Mr. Khan has 10 years of development experience managing and consulting on emergency, humanitarian assistance, rehabilitation and development projects in Pakistan and Afghanistan. In Afghanistan for over 5 years, he worked as the Director of Planning for a well-established national NGO where he supervised and facilitated the planning, program development, implementation and coordination of over 50 projects in some of the country’s most hostile locations. He has expertise in the areas of agriculture, rural livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, emergency assistance, strategic planning, evaluation, project design and business/program development. He also has experience working collaboratively with and reporting to various international donor and other development actors. Mr. Khan speaks Urdu, English, Hindko and has working knowledge of the Pashto and Dari languages.
