Mozambique Office: Nyararai Magudu, Field Coordinator

Mr. Nyararai Magudu joined CHF in January 2010 to become the Field Coordinator for Mozambique. As such, he is responsible for overall project management, provision of technical assistance and capacity building, business development and representation. He has more than 10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing projects in developing countries in Africa, and has expertise in a number of areas including HIV/AIDS programming and human rights promotion with a special focus on children. Nyararai is an experienced trainer in project management, governance, leadership and organizational development, and he excels at using the PRA, M&E, and RBM tools for project implementation and management. As a result of his exposure and experience of living in Southern Africa, Nyararai commands more than 10 languages.
In the past, Mr. Nyararai worked for Concern Worldwide in Manica province, where he coordinated and managed large livelihoods support projects, primarily focused on education and emergency response to floods and humanitarian crisis. He also managed multidisciplinary teams implementing HIV/AIDS, nutrition and agriculture projects for Africare and coordinated the implementation of the orphans and vulnerable children program of Care International. An experienced manager, Nyararai has worked on projects funded by Irish Aid, the European Commission, UNICEF, UNHCR, USAID, CIDA, DANIDA and the Global Fund.
As a result of his great passion in human rights issues, Nyararai was selected by Amnesty International to speak at large global conferences on the impact of small arms in Africa including the G8 Summits held in Canada in 2003, and in France in 2004. He was also invited to speak at northern UK universities, in the context of campaigns to stop illegal trade of small arms.
