Guyana Office: Denise Patricia Bentinck, Project Director
M.Sc. Finance; Bachelor of Social Science Degree in Management
A Guyanese national, Ms. Denise Bentinck has both national and international experience in financial management, financial analysis, training, project development and monitoring. Ms. Bentinck has to her credit more than twenty cumulative years of experience in budget formulation, reviewing and recommending refinancing of credit to co-operatives, companies, small business and individuals. She also has expertise in project design, implementation, monitoring and management, financial analysis, financial management and oversight, and contract administration.
Since joining CHF in June 2006, Ms. Bentinck has occupied a number of positions leading to her appointment as Project Director of the Small Farmers Livelihood Program. In her current role, she is responsible for the financial and managerial administration of the US$1.5 million program. As part of her previous experiences, Ms. Bentinck has had direct responsibility for all aspects of project expansion and monitoring of an important micro-finance institution in Botswana for seven years. She also trained grant recipients in setting up financial records and internal controls that are in compliance with U.S. government and other donors’ requirements and has organised and conducted annual financial management and accounting training workshops in Zambia and Botswana. Ms. Bentinck has financial management and oversight experience with a number of donors including CIDA, IADB and UNAIDS.
