Ethiopia Office: Salfiso Kitabo Madebo, Country Director

M.Sc. in International Business Management; B.Sc. (Hons) in International Agri-Food Production, Marketing and Management

Salfiso Kitabo Madebo has more than 20 years of experience working for local and international NGOs in Ethiopia. He joined the Addis Ababa-based CHF Team in 2008, where he now serves as Program Coordinator for Ethiopia. In his current function, Mr. Salfiso is responsible to coordinate the implementation of CHF’s projects in the country and to provide technical support in the areas of market-led development, sustainable livelihoods, food security, capacity building, gender-sensitive programming, and participatory community approaches. 

Prior to joining CHF, Salfiso was Program Director at KMG, an Ethiopian NGO which uses a rights-based approach to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia. He also spent almost 10 years as a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator and Project Manager for Food for the Hungry International programs in Ethiopia where he managed multi-sectoral projects in three regions of the country.

In addition to strong management and coordination skills, Salfiso has extensive experience in program development, M&E, project design, contracting, human resource management, financial management and reporting. He is an experienced trainer and facilitator, particularly in the areas of value chain analysis, farmers’ group marketing and community-based disaster risk management.
