HQ: Jim Hamilton, Program Manager and Acting Regional Director for Asia

Jim Hamilton has over 25 years’ experience on long-term projects in developing regions of Asia, Africa and North America working with multiple stakeholders to achieve their respective objectives. Mr. Hamilton has wide experience in international development projects including project appraisal and feasibility studies, work plan design and budget planning, project cycle and results-based management, institutional strengthening and capacity building, monitoring and evaluation in resource sectors (agriculture, water, irrigation and drainage, mining and renewable energy) as well as rural livelihoods diversification. During his tenure with a Canadian engineering and environmental services company, he conducted socio-economic baseline and impact assessments as part and parcel of the environmental assessment process. Mr. Hamilton has a demonstrated ability to ensure quality and focus in the management of complex projects in a multi-partner environment.
Before joining CHF, Mr. Hamilton was the Field Project Manager for the $10.4 million CIDA-funded Bangladesh Environmental Technology Verification – Support to Arsenic Mitigation project which successfully concluded in December 2009. Mr. Hamilton holds a Master of Science degree in agricultural economics from the University of Guelph with a concentration in rural planning and resource development. Mr. Hamilton is Program Manager and Acting Regional Director for Asia, where he is responsible for the management and delivery of CHF’s projects in Cambodia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
