Ethiopia Office: Damte Dagnew, Value Chain Coordinator

Mr. Damte Dagnew is CHF’s Value Chain Coordinator for the Benishangul-Gumuz Food Security and Economic Growth project in Ethiopia. As such, he coordinates and provides technical support to the project implementing partners in order to build their capacity to effectively plan, implement, monitor and evaluate market-led development activities using value chain, capacity building, gender mainstreaming, and pro-poor programming strategies.
Mr. Dagnew’s expertise is built on extensive experience working on value chain and rural development projects for the not-for-profit and public sectors. For example, working as Project Coordinator for the Government of Ethiopia’s Rural Development Bureau, Mr. Dagnew coordinated the implementation of a number of multi-million dollar rural development projects financed by bilateral and multilateral agencies. As a result of his vast experiences and exposures, Mr. Dagnew developed expertise in various areas relevant to his position as Value Chain Coordinator. His areas of expertise include: multidisciplinary project planning and management (including project cycle and results-based management), value chain analysis and development, participatory monitoring and evaluation, and cross-cutting issues, in particular gender equality. An experienced trainer, Mr. Dagnew has built the capacity of a number of people and institutions to deliver project results.
