HQ: Andres Gouldsborough, Program Officer for Asia

M.A., Local Economic Development

Mr. Gouldsborough holds a Master’s Degree in Local Economic Development, a Graduate Diploma in Community Economic Development, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. His education has been further complemented through important work experience in development projects in Latin America and Africa. In Colombia, he facilitated participatory community analysis and planning in marginalized communities, and worked on a two year Participatory-Action-Research project studying civil engagement and rural development. In Ghana and Liberia, he was involved in Credit Union and Microfinance programs, evaluating their performance and impacts, and carrying out feasibility studies for their up-scaling and replication.

More recently, Mr. Gouldsborough was involved as a research assistant in the New Rural Economy Project of Concordia University, investigating social capital, community economic development and aboriginal communities in Canada. At the Institute for Non-Profit Studies of Mount Royal College he explored the social enterprise/non-profit policy architecture in Quebec and Ontario. Mr. Gouldsborough recently joined CHF as a Program Officer for Asia, where he will apply his knowledge and experience to projects dealing with ultra-poverty and sustainable livelihoods.
