What CHF offers

CHF’s Global Education Program
We want to make it easy for you to teach from a global perspective. Let us help you bring the voice of rural communities in developing countries to your school and classroom.
Here’s what we can offer you:
Presentations
Talking about development can be a fun way to introduce your students to important issues – historical, economic, environmental and geographic – that affect us all. At CHF we make it easy.
Interactive presentations, complete with images of the communities we empower and authentic small group activities, are provided in your classroom by well-trained, knowledgeable Global Educators.
Presentations are available in Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver. If you are outside of these areas, please see our videos under the resource tab for another way of bringing these issues into the classroom or call us to set-up videoconferencing.

Teaching Resources
We have worked with Canadian teachers to develop easy-to-use resources linked to school curriculum. CHF provides these tools to help you inform your students about the issues affecting families in developing countries.
Thousands of teachers from across Canada request our lessons for all grades. All of our lessons can now be found online.
Get Involved
Do you want your students to be global citizens? Part of inspiring and educating your students is to empower them to be part of the solution. CHF has many projects that your class or school can undertake to help improve the lives of the rural poor.
Hold an event such as Kids Helping Kids Around the World or the Reality Race. Or participate in our Show What You Know Media Arts Contest. When you raise funds, you and your class can choose much needed items from the communities we work with through our Gifts That Matter campaign.
Funds raised will be matched 3 to 1 by CIDA, so if your school raises $100, $400 of support goes to help families in developing countries.
