In celebration of CHF’s, the Canadian Hunger Foundation’s, 50th Anniversary, CHF is holding our ‘What’s right with this Picture? Celebrating International Development Results’ symposium on March 1 and 2, 2012. The symposium will highlight results and best practices as they relate to the following thematic focus:

  1. Promoting Food Security through the Sustainable Livelihoods Approach
  2. Climate Change Adaptation Strategies to Reduce Vulnerability
  3. Private Sector Collaboration.

2012-symposiumchild As part of CHF’s 50 year celebration, we have dedicated the first day of our symposium to our youth leaders. The theme will be global citizenship and will  help youth raise awareness, be understanding, feel empathy and be inspired to take action to address issues of social injustice, especially climate change and food security as they impact the poorest in developing countries. This day will be full of inspirational stories, guest speakers and participants will be challenged to come up with a project that will engage their peers across Canada to make change that lasts.

The second full day of the symposium will include a celebration of CHF’s 50th anniversary, a key note discussing the last 50 years of development, a panel on the broader issues of the thematic areas above followed by practical development workshops in the afternoon.

We hope you can join us in this inspiring day as we look at how development is having impactful results through innovation and lessons learned in the areas of food security, climate change adaptation and private sector collaborations.
