Hellen Samushonga - Success Story

Hellen Samushonga is helping to raise her six grandchildren in her home in rural eastern Zimbabwe. It’s an incredible amount of work for a senior, but thanks to CHF’s project in her community, we’ve made her life a bit easier.
Through the gift of drip kits, used to irrigate their small plot of land, Hellen’s family can grow vegetables such as onions and rape to eat.
Hellen’s family has also been provided with chickens, turkeys and guinea fowl, and they even grow sunflower seeds to feed the chickens. Hellen has also sold some of their goats to buy a cow.
Her family can now earn enough money to pay the school fees. When Hellen was asked what she wants for her family, she said, “I want my grandchildren to finish school.”
