Case Study of the Bati Region of Ethiopia

Presentation Overview:
The Ethiopia case-study presentation will give students insight into this dynamic African country. Expect to see stunning images and hear heartfelt stories and to learn about a project that is helping people graduate out of poverty. Students will also learn about how farming and animals play a vitally important role in enhancing the lives of the people in the Bati community in Ethiopia. At the end of the presentation, students will learn about ways they can get involved through our Gifts That Matter campaign, Kids Helping Kids Around the World Event, or our Show What You Know Media Literacy contest.

Timing:
For Grades 1-3, if we are speaking to a large group approximately 20-30 minutes is best. For individual classroom presentations, 30-50 minutes will allow more time for questions and answers.

For Grades 4-6, 35-45 minutes is ideal for large groups, and 40-60 minutes for small groups. It will allow more time to look deeper at the issues and for questions and answers. If your presentation is for one class, we may have time to also do an activity with your class.

For Grades 7-10, a minimum of 45 minutes will make for the most rewarding experience for your students. As the presentation length increases up to 75 minutes, our global educators will be able to facilitate a hands-on activity and respond to more of your students’ questions.
