Get Involved

Understanding our neighbors near and far is part of our current global reality. The other part is inspiring action to transform our world into one we can all share and be proud of.

Empower your students to be a part of the solution today! CHF has many projects your class or school can do to help improve the lives of the rural poor.

swyk-logoWant to improve the media arts skills of your students? Have your class enter the Show What You Know Media Arts contest. Students design either a video, poster or pamphlet and describe real life issues that impact the rural poor and what is being done to alleviate poverty in developing countries.

khkTeaching elementary students? Hold a Kids Helping Kids Around the World Event where your students create their own unique, colourful wall mural to represent a healthy, thriving community.

rrTeaching intermediate or high school students? Run the Reality Race. Your students will visit stations where they think actively and experience the realities faced by the rural poor while racing to raise funds.

All funds raised will be matched 3 to 1 by CIDA. If your school raises $100, $400 of support goes to helping families in developing countries.

The real game of survivor

Beyond disaster relief

“Something that my classmates and I agreed was interesting was that CHF doesn’t just throw money or supplies at people in need, you also teach them how to become self-sufficient and not only that, but you give them a sense of pride and worth. Every single person on this planet, rich or poor, deserves that….Thank you for reminding all of us of that.”
