For Educators

Shot in Northern Ghana, Nalogu: Everyone Lends a Hand portrays a thriving rural African community where everyone works together to improve their quality of life. With our host, CHF’s Global Education Manager Sandra Kiviaho, we are invited into the village where we meet Baba, a local farmer, and his family, and get to know how they live. We see how families work with CHF and our local partners to improve their livelihoods and end their cycle of poverty. (25 minutes)

This video can be linked with curriculum requirements for grades 3 - 7. For younger grades, students will grasp basic concepts of life in these villages. Older grades will comprehend the needs of the community and how they are met. Many learning activities have been included in the teacher guide provided with the video.

The real game of survivor

Beyond disaster relief

“Something that my classmates and I agreed was interesting was that CHF doesn’t just throw money or supplies at people in need, you also teach them how to become self-sufficient and not only that, but you give them a sense of pride and worth. Every single person on this planet, rich or poor, deserves that….Thank you for reminding all of us of that.”
